The suffering of light by Alex Webb

Alex Webb was born in San Francisco, California in 1952. He became interested in photography during his high school years. He went to Harvard University and studied photography at the Carpenter center for the visual arts. He likes to take vibrant and complex photographs. In this photo from his collection of photographs in the book “The suffering of light”, you see a kid looking off at something in an annoyed manner. They’re hiding inside of a cardboard box. I’m going to believe that they are hiding in a box to protect themselves from the strong sunlight being depicted in the picture. It seems like the light is gleaming down and making it to hot to be outside, they fire the child has to take cover from the sun in a box. I liked the light and the shade on the sides of the photo.
