Hundred Heroines by Rinko Kawauchi
Rinko Kawauchi is a Japanese, ancontemporary photographer, who mainly captures special moments, and simple photographs. She studied photography and graphic design at Seian University of Art Rinko specifically chooses to take photographs with meaning, that she feels will move the viewers. She chooses to capture poetic depictions of life. In this photograph, it is a street surrounded by a forest, it depicts a light at the end of the tunnel. The sides are dark, and portraying a sense of the unknown, but in the middle of the photograph, there is an encapsulating light. The light is the main focus of the photograph, providing a sense of warmth, and clarity.

The mind and the hand
Lee Friedlander is an American photographer. He was born in Washington in 1934. He began to take photos of social landscapes in 1948. He has been able to capture the chaotic city life, as well as happy moments. What drew me to choose this photo was how happy this man seems to be. I am wondering whether he knew this photo was being taken and is smiling for the photo, or is smiling because of the phone call. I also like this photo because Lee mainly focuses on city life, in his other work there is always a sense of chaos, but in this photo, it seems personal, focusing on the man, while you see a couple of others in the back minding their own business. He shot in black and white film, which also helps provide a nostalgic vibe looking at the photos today.
Cock of the walk … a detail from Gueorgui Pinkhassov’s photograph of Tashkent's oldest bazaar. Photograph: Magnum
Pinkhassov is a photographer born in Moscow Russia in 1953. He is mainly known for his vivid photographs. He takes photos that are very interesting and make the viewer think. He was awarded independent artist status by the Moscow Union of Graphic Arts in 1978, which allowed him to travel and open up his work to a larger audience. He has taken a plethora of eye-opening photographs that provide a sense of complexity and interest. I come this specific photo because it was weird. The whole photo is captured in black and white, but there is a rooster in the middle, that is the only thing that is in color. The background is filled with different people, maybe partying, or hanging out, and then the rooster is just there, with them. It makes the viewer think, why is there a rooster? It was very interesting
